'He called me at night and...': A Delhi woman recalls her disturbing cab experience, and what happened next will shock you
What started as a normal ride soon turned into a frightening experience for a young woman. In a viral social media video, she shared how a Rapido driver allegedly made her uncomfortable during the ride and later continued to contact her after getting access to her phone number.

An uncomfortable ride from the beginning

What is the one thing that women are tired of being asked?

The woman in the video said she booked a Rapido ride at night. She said that the driver acted weirdly at the time and made her feel really uncomfortable. The driver kept playing love songs and songs featuring suggestive lyrics during the ride she claimed. She specifically mentioned songs with Emraan Hashmi. She said the vibe the driver created made her super uneasy. The woman also said the driver kept asking her questions. He wanted to know stuff about her, which made her even more uncomfortable. Even though she felt weird, she decided to sit quietly, pretended to be on a call, and finished the ride safely.

Late-night calls left her scared

The situation became more serious after the ride ended. The woman alleged she started receiving calls late at night, around 1 AM. At first, she did not know who was calling. However, she later suspected that the calls were coming from the same Rapido driver.
According to her, the repeated calls made her worried about her safety and left her feeling frightened.

Things got worse when she answered

The woman said she eventually answered one of the calls. She alleged that the driver started making inappropriate comments during the conversation. According to her, he even made remarks about her body, which made her feel even more disturbed and unsafe. She said she was shocked and did not know how to deal with the situation.

Complaint filed with Rapido

Following the incident, the woman said she emailed Rapido and filed a formal complaint against the driver. The video also shows a screenshot of an email in which she reportedly accused the driver of harassment and inappropriate behaviour.

'This Experience Traumatized Me'

Towards the end of the video the woman said the whole thing really affected her health. She called the experience traumatic. She said she is still trying to get over the fear and stress it caused. The video is now all over social media, with many people supporting the woman and worried about passenger safety on ride-hailing apps.

Rapido responded

After the woman's video went viral on social media, Rapido responded to the allegations and expressed concern over the incident. The company stated:"Hi Shaivya, we’re truly sorry you had to go through such a distressing experience. No one should ever feel unsafe during or after a ride. Please know that we take such concerns very seriously, and behavior of this nature is completely unacceptable on our platform. We’d also like to clarify that customer mobile numbers are masked on Rapido, and we’d like to investigate this further. Your safety remains our top priority, and we are committed to taking appropriate action against the captain involved. Kindly share your registered mobile number and ride details via DM so we can look into this urgently and assist you further."

Safety takeaway

This incident serves as an important reminder for passengers to stay alert during rides, especially when travelling alone at night. If a driver’s behaviour makes you uncomfortable, consider sharing your live location with a trusted contact, using in-app safety features, and reporting any suspicious conduct immediately. It is also advisable to avoid engaging in personal conversations and to document any unwanted contact after the ride. Prompt reporting can help ride-hailing platforms investigate complaints and take necessary action to improve passenger safety.
