‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ will return on November 11, 2026, after a two-year gap. The fantasy series will bring viewers back to Middle-earth with rising dark magic, scattered kingdoms, new alliances, and the growing presence of grey wizards. The release also places the show close to HBO Max’s upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ series, expected around Christmas 2026.

'The Rings of Power' Season 3 release date

According to Prime Video, the announcement was made during Amazon’s upfront presentation in New York last week. The streamer confirmed that Season 3 will debut before the end of 2026. Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, said, “From the very beginning, this series has embodied the scale, ambition, and cinematic storytelling that define Prime Video’s biggest global series.”He added, “The extraordinary response from millions of fans around the world has made it clear that this journey through Middle-earth continues to resonate, and that momentum has only grown heading into Season Three.”

'The Rings of Power' cast and viewership details

The streamer also highlighted the show’s performance. Season 1 remains the biggest TV series premiere ever. Season 2 ranks among its top five most-watched returning seasons. The second season also reached No.
1 on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 Original Series chart after its return. It stayed in the top half of that chart throughout the season.The cast includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Míriel, Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Charlie Vickers as Sauron, Ismael Cruz Córdova as Arondir, Owain Arthur as Durin IV, Sophia Nomvete as Disa, Markella Kavenagh as Nori Brandyfoot, Daniel Weyman as Gandalf, Lloyd Owen as Elendil, Maxim Baldry as Isildur, Ema Horvath as Eärien, Trystan Gravelle as Pharazôn, Ciarán Hinds as the Dark Wizard, and Rory Kinnear as Tom Bombadil. The first two seasons are streaming now.
