Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena placed a full page advertisement in newspapers titled “Modi for India, Shinde for Maharashtra '', quoting a survey where the chief minister has been shown as more preferred for the top post than BJP's Devendra Fadnavis. The advertisement features Sena's bow-and-arrow symbol and images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Shinde. But, the image of Shiv Sena founder late Balasaheb Thackeray was missing in the advertisement. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut took a dig at Shinde and called the party "Modi-Shah's Shiv Sena".
