In the run-up to the Bihar elections, The Times of India spoke to the people of Katiharto understand their concerns and expectations. Locals voiced frustration over unemployment, frequent floods, and poor infrastructure, saying development has remained limited to promises. Many youths said they want stable jobs and better educational opportunities, while farmers demanded long-term flood management and support for agriculture. Despite disappointment with past governments, there is cautious optimism among residents hoping for real change. Katihar’s voices reflect the mood of Bihar’s Seemanchal region — a mix of hope, anger, and aspiration for a future built on growth and equality.
