Delhi HC dissolves IOA-run ad-hoc panel for SSI

NEW DELHI: Calling out the formation of an ad-hoc panel “unilateral and arbitrary”, the Delhi High Court has dissolved the Indian Olympic Association (IOA)-appointed four-member committee, tasked to manage the affairs of the ski and snowboard sports in the country, with immediate effect.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!A single judge bench of Justice Jasmeet Singh directed the holding of elections to the Ski and Snowboard India (SSI) national federation within a period of 12 weeks from the date of the order (Feb 10, 2026). The court has appointed retd Delhi HC judge, Justice Rekha Palli as the returning officer.The IOA formed an ad-hoc committee in Oct 2023 with Winter Games Olympian Shiva Keshavan as its chairman. The other members were TN Rachana Bhavani and Arif Khan and Jelena Dojcinovic from the world body FIS.There were allegations against the committee for having active athletes as its members, influencing the selection decisions and leading to bias.
