The National Register of Citizens (NRC) for Assam is going to be published on August 31. The Apex court has set a deadline of August 31 for public publication of the National Register of Citizens. "The Centre can consider corrective measures, including legislation, to set right wrongful inclusions and exclusions," said Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The assam chief minister already hinted that at all alternatives, including those in the legislative domain, might be considered to deal with wrongful exclusion of genuine citizens or wrongful inclusion of foreigners in the NRC.
