ISRO launches 36 OneWeb satellites in its heaviest rocket from Sriharikota

ISRO launched 36 broadband satellites developed by OneWeb to Low Earth Orbit on Oct 23. The satellites are being launched from LVM-III, a redesignated version of the GSLV Mk-IIIThe satellites were launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. This is the first commercial launch for LVM-III. The LVM3-M2 mission was created specifically for a foreign client, OneWeb, by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).

Delhi: Rajesh Kumar Sinha from the Shipping Ministry said that in the last 24 hours, 30 seafarers have been safely repatriated to India from various airports across the Gulf region, taking the total number of repatriations to 253. The ministry facilitated the return of these individuals from their respective locations, ensuring smooth and coordinated operations. Sinha also noted that six LPG carriers, arriving from different parts of the world and not solely from the Gulf, were given priority berthing at major Indian ports. These measures underscore India’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its seafarers and ensuring uninterrupted maritime operations during challenging times.
