ISRO Launches Heaviest-Ever BlueBird Block-2 Satellite Onboard LVM3 From Sriharikota

ISRO has successfully launched the LVM3-M6 mission carrying AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, at 8:55 am. This marks the sixth operational flight of the heavy-lift LVM3 rocket and a key milestone in India’s commercial launch programme. Weighing around 6,100 kg, BlueBird Block-2 becomes the heaviest payload ever placed into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) by LVM3, surpassing the previous record of 4,400 kg. Under a commercial agreement between NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and AST SpaceMobile, the satellite will be deployed into LEO roughly 15 minutes after liftoff. Equipped with a 223-square-metre phased-array antenna, it will provide space-based 4G and 5G connectivity to standard smartphones, supporting voice, video, messaging, and data services, particularly in remote and underserved areas.#lvm3m6 #bluebirdblock2 #isro #astspacemobile #nsil #communicationsatellite #lowearthorbit #heavyliftrocket #indiacommerciallaunch #sriharikotalaunch
