On Sivaji Ganesan's 93rd birth anniversary, Google pays tribute with Doodle. Sivaji Ganesan is widely accepted among the nation's most influential actors of all time. The doodle has been created by India-based guest artist Noopur Rajesh Choksi. Sivaji Ganesan was born in 1928 as Ganesamoorthy in Villupuram. Villupuram is a town in the state of Tamil Nadu. Ganesan at the young age of 7, left home and joined a theatre group. Initially he started playing child and female roles then switched on to lead roles. In December 1945, Ganesan made a name for himself. He literally became famous with his theatrical portrayal of 17th-century Indian King Shivaji. Though he was mainly active in Tamil cinema, Ganesan appeared in nearly 300 films in different languages. In a career that spanned nearly five decades, he won several awards.
