Delhi residents are facing another fuel price shock as CNG prices in the national capital have been increased by Rs 2 per kilogram, taking the retail rate to Rs 83.09/kg.This marks the fourth hike in less than two weeks, with CNG prices rising by a total of Rs 6/kg within just 11 days. The repeated increases come after recent hikes in petrol and diesel prices and are being linked to global energy market instability caused by the Iran conflict and tensions around the Strait of Hormuz.The fresh hike is expected to impact lakhs of commuters, auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators, and commercial transport services across Delhi-NCR. Experts warn that rising transportation costs could eventually lead to higher prices of essential goods and household commodities.
