A consignment of 120 oxygen concentrators from the United Kingdom reached India, which is in the throes of a deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, on Thursday morning. 120 oxygen concentrators arrived in Delhi from UK to support India’s Covid-19 response. A further 280 oxygen concentrators are due to arrive on 30 April morning. First batch of UK-funded ventilators and oxygen concentrators arrived in Delhi on 27 April. These supplies are all part of the initial package of support announced by the Prime Minister. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab announced that UK will send further vital oxygen equipment to India. The support follows a request from India and a pledge from PM Boris Johnson for the UK to do all it can.
