U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Canada over its growing economic ties with China. In a Truth Social post, he threatened one-hundred-percent tariffs if Ottawa pursues deals, accusing Canada of trying to become a “drop-off port” for Chinese goods. Trump also criticized Ottawa for opposing his proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense system while deepening trade with Beijing. The warning comes after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited China, marking the first such visit in nearly a decade, where both sides agreed on tariff reductions for agricultural goods and quotas on electric vehicles.
