Italian PM Giorgia Meloni has strongly opposed French President Macron’s plan to recognize Palestine at the UN. Joining the U.S. and Israel, Meloni said, “If something does not exist, you cannot recognize it.” Her remarks follow Germany’s similar stance and growing European division on Palestinian statehood. With Trump and Netanyahu also condemning Macron’s move, is France becoming isolated in the West?
