The USS Gerald R. Ford, America's most powerful warship and the primary strike platform for Operation Epic Fury, has docked at Naval Support Activity Souda Bay in Crete after a fire that burned for more than 30 hours. Around 600 sailors lost their beds and were forced to sleep on tables and floors. One was medically evacuated. The Navy said the ship remained fully operational then sent it home. The Ford is not expected to return to the Middle East after repairs and will sail back to the United States. Its departure coincides with the most contradictory 72 hours of Donald Trump's Iran war messaging yet a five-day pause on strikes against Iranian energy sites, described as the result of productive conversations with Tehran, from a president who says he is not interested in a ceasefire.
