NAMAKKAL: Namakkal district on Sunday set a world record by forming the largest human formation to create awareness ahead of the April 23 Tamil Nadu assembly election. A total of 8,662 people, including govt officials and employees, college faculty members and students, participated at the World Records Union event on a private engineering college ground under the leadership of district election officer and collector Durgamoorthy. The participants formed election awareness symbols and messages.

District collector presented a medal and certificate recognising the world record event in the presence of Christopher Taylor Craft, manager, World Records Union.
