Calling the decision a “foolish mistake,” Trump questioned the alliance’s reliability and warned it could damage long-standing partnerships. He also floated the possibility of the United States reconsidering its role in NATO. Tensions further rose after Emmanuel Macron indicated France would only assist in securing the Strait of Hormuz after the conflict ends, drawing a sharp response from Trump.
