Bharatiya Janata Party West Bengal president Sukanta Majumdar on April 02 launched an attack on the state government over violence in Howrah and the death of BJP leader Raju Jha, who was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Purba Bardhaman. He alleged that law and order in the state has completely collapsed. Sukanta Majumdar said, “It is not an issue of which party's leader was killed. The point is that 5 people killed a person in broad daylight in West Bengal. The recent violence in Howrah and the public killing of a man by 5 people proves that there is a complete breakdown of law and order here.” Sukanta Majumdar also met victims of recent violence during his visit to a temple in Howrah.
