From his grand Trump Tower escalator entrance into the Republican presidential race on June 16, 2015, Trump managed to be simultaneously charismatic and combative, elitist and populist, lewd and pious as he drilled into a lode of polarity and anti-Washington anger among American voters.

In an uncharacteristically gracious and conciliatory speech, US President-elect Donald Trump, in his post-win speech, first thanked opponent Hillary Clinton for her "service to the nation" and hinted at healing a country bruised by a gruelling and divisive campaign season.

Having being accused of racism throughout his campaign - he called Mexicans "rapists" - the post-win Trump even talked of his campaign "being a movement comprising people of all races and backgrounds," possibly surprising many, as evidenced by an eruption of cheers when he said the word "races."

Hamas expects same anti-Palestinian 'bias' under Trump
Islamist movement Hamas which controls Gaza said that it did not expect a change in US "bias" against the Palestinians with Donald Trump in the White House. "The Palestinian people do not count much on any change in the US presidency because the US policy towards the Palestinian issue is a consistent policy on the basis of bias," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told AFP. "Nevertheless, we hope that US president Trump will re-evaluate this policy and rebalance it on the Palestinian issue."

After a long and bitterly-fought campaign, Trump today engendered a shock upset by winning 276 electoral votes from 27 states, six more than the 270 needed to win the Presidency. His opponent, former Secretary of State Clinton, won a fewer-than-expected 218 votes. Results are still coming in from some states, but they no longer matter.

Is there any last minute chance for Hillary Clinton?
* If Clinton takes many of the remaining states – including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota and Arizona – she would get enough of the electoral college to reach the all-important 270 votes and make her way to the White House.

*Another possible outcome is that the election goes down to a tie. Clinton will lose in that case since the Republicans are almost certain to retain both legislatures.

Obama's recent comment on Trump explains the panic over latest poll results
As polls closed and media called state races one-by-one, giving the key battleground states of Ohio, Florida and North Carolina to the Republican maverick, pollsters scrambled to update their forecasts and point to an improbable upset. This quote by Barack Obama clearly explains the slight panic:

"In the last two days, they had so little confidence in his self-control they said we are just going to take away your Twitter. Now, if somebody can't handle a Twitter account, they can't handle the nuclear codes. If somebody starts tweeting at three in the morning because SNL made fun of you, then you can't handle the nuclear codes."
