The Padma Awards for 2026 were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of Republic Day, recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact across diverse fields. Alongside Mammootty, former Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, former Supreme Court judge Justice K T Thomas, P Narayanan, and SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan will also be receiving the honor from Kerala.
