The suicide of Govindapuram native Deepak after the false allegation video went viral is still a matter of discussion in the state. As social media is celebrating the arrest of accused Shimjitha Mustafa, many troll videos are seen making rounds on social media, gender-shaming women. Addressing this new trend, former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestant and social media influencer Sreedevi Gopinath has shared a video.
The video begins with Sreedevi stating that what happened to Deepak was an unfortunate incident, and she is also happy that the culprit is in custody.
"But, I am also seeing videos accusing women of being predators and men saying they have to wear protective gear when they are travelling on the bus. Well, not all women are like her, just as not all men are bad. Deepak's incident might be one of a kind. But we still have girls being raped by their fathers, uncles, teachers, and friends, so let's not generalize. Even I was raped by my husband when I was 5 months pregnant," she said in the video.
"There are perverts in this world, too. My husband raped me when I was 5 months pregnant. I know many women would have faced similar situations.
Not every woman is bad. Kindly avoid gender defaming," she captioned the video.
