In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, the famed actress revealed that her decision to leave the show was 1.5 years in the making.

She shared that she would often think, “Okay, so what’s next?” while working on the show, but never took action. It was her daughter who inspired her to move on from the famous TV serial and try out new things. She added more details, sharing that, “My daughter Aashi: I always said she's my best friend, and she's my biggest critic. So she was also that ‘momma, now you should you do something, you know, cop, or something like that? Do something different.’” Her daughter’s words made her believe that it was time to move and do something that challenged her, and that it was “high time to say goodbye” to the show and her character.

“I was not growing as an actor, I was earning, I was getting love, but mere andar jo woh ek artist wali bhook hai, kalakar ke andar jo ek woh jo rehta hai ki mujhe aur kuch karna hai,” Atre shared, revealing that she had not professionally learnt acting, and had worked on things as they came. Even through all of the success, it was her hunger to find new roles and challenge herself that empowered her to leave the beloved show behind and work on something new.
