Love is something that should be felt every day, not just on one particular day: Samridhii Shukla
Actress Samridhii Shukla, currently seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, believes that while Valentine’s Day is sweet, love itself is far bigger than a single date on the calendar. “I believe in love more than I believe in Valentine’s Day,” she says. “Love is something that should be felt every day, not just on one particular date. Valentine’s Day is sweet and fun, but for me, it is just a reminder to express what you already feel.”
Samridhii does not associate the day with grand gestures or extravagance. “If you truly care for someone, you don’t need a special day to show it,” she adds. According to her, real love lies in daily effort, small gestures, and genuine emotions rather than dramatic displays.
Recalling her favourite Valentine’s memory, she says it wasn’t about roses or expensive gifts. “I once spent the day with close friends—eating good food, laughing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. It was simple, but it felt warm and real.” She believes such uncomplicated moments often become the most meaningful memories.
On whether Valentine’s Day has become too commercial, she shares a balanced view. “Yes, to some extent, it has become commercial. You see gifts, offers, and expectations everywhere. But it depends on how you choose to celebrate it. You can either get carried away by the pressure or keep it simple and meaningful.”
Describing her ideal date, Samridhii prefers calm over glamour. “Maybe a long drive, good music, and meaningful conversations. I’d choose a quiet place over a crowded, fancy restaurant,” she says. “The best date is where you can be yourself and enjoy each other’s presence without pressure.”
