Jiya Shankar’s team on link-up rumours: She does not engage in publicity stunts or manufactured narratives

Jiya Shankar has recently found herself at the centre of multiple link-up rumours. After being linked to Ahaan Shetty earlier, reports of her engagement to Bigg Boss OTT 2 co-contestant Abhishek Malhan began doing the rounds. She later dismissed the engagement speculation by sharing a romantic photograph with a mystery man. While reports have also suggested that she is dating Kaaran Dhanak, a US-based architect, there has been no official confirmation from the actress.

Amid the speculation, her team has released a statement shutting down all rumours. According to the statement, “We, as representatives of Jiya, have always maintained a clear and consistent stance. She does not engage in publicity stunts or manufactured narratives. This is something that she has addressed more than once. Shutting down rumours and trolling was our only intent, not to spark unnecessary debates. A credible artiste with a body of work that speaks for itself, Jiya has never relied on controversy for momentum. Her focus remains firmly on her craft, personal growth, and the life she has consciously chosen to build with integrity and independence. She is content, secure, and grateful for the love she receives, while choosing to share only what aligns with her values. We urge conversations to remain respectful, positive, and centred on meaningful work rather than speculation.”


For those unaware, Jiya and her Bigg Boss OTT 2 co-contestant Abhishek Malhan were recently rumoured to be engaged. However, both denied the claims. Jiya addressed the speculation on her own social media, stating that she was neither dating nor engaged to Abhishek. She subsequently shared a photograph with a mystery man, confirming that she is dating someone without revealing his identity. Abhishek later shared a strong response on social media, writing, “I want to make one thing very clear, please stop linking my name with anyone.” He added that he had participated in the show three years ago and that his chapter with Jiya ended there.

On the work front, Jiya has been part of shows such as Meri Hanikarak Biwi, Kaatelal and Sons, and Bigg Boss OTT 2. She also featured in Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial debut, Ved.
