From being a family of 4, Dimpy Ganguly’s family has grown to 5. The mom to 3 kids – Reanna, Aryaan and Rishaan, is settling in their new home in Dubai. The former actress, who had previously shared with ETimes TV that they are looking for a bigger space to move in as their family expands, has shifted to a villa. This time too, ETimes TV caught up with Dimpy, who lives in Dubai with her family. She spoke to us about her new space, how she is overcoming challenges after moving in with her newborn and a lot more. Keep reading:

We have moved to a new house. It’s actually a villa. I got more bedrooms, we live in a community. It’s got a huge park. It’s really nice for the kids. I was a bit apprehensive before as we were in Downtown Dubai. It was the centre of everything. However, moving here and living in a community I feel brings all the families together.

It’s great for kids growing up. All the events are celebrated. We recently celebrated Halloween. Kids from all the houses came and celebrated. They had fun. Living in a community is great and we are very happy that we moved.

The kids have their own rooms. They have their friends. Reanna is in school so she has a lot of friends. Bunny, who is not in school or nursery, is happy to have friends here. It’s great.

That was crazy! I wish we shifted before giving birth but everyone thought, I shouldn’t be moving much while being heavily pregnant. They felt it wasn’t wise. I kept saying that with the baby inside is way better than the baby outside. So, we moved in after Rishaan was born and that was something! I wasn’t getting sleep at night, the hormones were crazy. I had no idea what was being kept where. Although, I have to mention, my nanny was extremely efficient. But that had a problem because I wasn’t doing it by myself. My insecurity was not knowing where things were kept and I would scamper around later to find things. But everything is an adjustment process, that’s what I have realised. Everything is something that you grow into. You cannot rush things.

We are still not completely done doing up the house. But whatever furniture we had from the old house, which is a lot, they all have fit perfectly. My husband keeps saying that it is like this house was waiting for us. Everything just fits in. We didn’t have to think much about where to keep what. Everything found its place.

Reanna cannot sleep alone. She needs company. So Bunny and she sleep in the same room. Some nights, when I am late in getting back from swimming classes, she takes longer to finish her dinner, those evenings I make sure Bunny goes to bed alone. It’s comfortable and he sleeps faster. But if you put the siblings together, they keep chatting and get late. They are like Peppa Pig and George.

Cameras are everywhere. The children find some sort of comfort that way because they know mummy is watching. So the other day, Reanna came home from Trick or Treat on Halloween and I had asked her to take a shower. She was scared to go alone. I told her to switch on all the lights on the upper floor and face the camera towards her and I would keep an eye on her. I was making dinner. She was scared and I comforted her that I will be watching her. She didn’t know that the camera was not working. So it gives them a sense of safety.
