The largest Ferris Wheel in the world, the Grande Roue (also known as the Big Wheel) at the Place De La Concorde in Paris is stuff made out of dreams! Offering the best views of the most romantic city in the world, right from the Louvre and the Jardin Des Tuileries to the Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower, it serves as a symbol for the holiday season in Paris. 70 m high, the 40 something pods of the Grande Roue welcome both kids and adults with open arms. This spectacle, however, is not permanent as it is moved after three months to other cities in Europe. The wheel is as old as the 1900s but had to be disassembled for the lack of iron. However, we certainly have to be thankful to Marcel Campion for bringing this beauty back to Paris in the year 2000.
When to go: November 14 to February 15. Open until mid-night.
Tickets: 10 Euros. 5 Euros for children.
