Mumbai may be famous for its skyscrapers and crowded buildings, but there was several open spaces in the form of beaches and parks in the city that offer a much needed respite from the thronging metropolis. There are as many as nine beaches in the city, with the most famous being Chowpatty for its street food and Juhu, the largest beach in Mumbai. The green lawns of the Oval Maidan in Churchgate are the venue for many local cricket matches as well as national and international tournaments. Further afield, the Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a unique urban forest that’s home to diverse flora and fauna. Read less
