The sprawling metropolis of Mumbai has a comprehensive transport network comprising of suburban railway, metro, buses, autos and private taxis. The most commonly used transport is the suburban railway, which operates on three main lines. For visitors, the most useful is the Western Line which connects Churchgate to Charni Road. More recently, the city also started its monorail between Chembur and Wadala, and a metro line between Versova and Ghatkopar. The city is also famous for its black-and-yellow metered taxis as well as newer radio cabs. Cheaper than taxis, autos are also an eco-friendly and fast way of travelling short distances. Read less
