Grüner See, also known as Green Lake is not some ordinary water body that offers scuba diving. This lake in Styria, Austria resembles a painter’s dream! Situated at the foot of gorgeous, snow-covered Hochschwab Mountains, this lake is only 2 m deep. But during peak summers, as the temperature soars, the snow and ice around the mountain melts and covers the entire garden and fills up the lake. During this time, the depth of this lake reaches around 12 m and provides excellent diving opportunities to divers. Because it is ice-cold water, divers and swimmers come prepared with winter gears as the temperature inside remains around 4 to 7 degree celsius.
