The city of Winnipeg is loaded with pools, and fortunately, for visitors and residents, many let them swim for free. Throughout the year, there are certain days on which swimming is free, and it’s easy to find out all the required information on the city website. Whether you are looking for a pool complete with a slide and a diving board or looking to soak in a whirlpool, there is a free swim available for you. Head over to the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex on Saturday afternoons for a free swim and take advantage of the sauna and diving tower as well. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are popular at Eldon Ross Pool, which offers a water temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit, perfect for those cold days. The St. James-Assiniboia is perhaps the most popular of them all though, complete with a whirlpool, sauna, diving board, waterslide and spray pad, making it ideal for families who like to enjoy together. Make sure to check online or call beforehand to find out which days and times are the ‘free swim’ ones as they do change depending on the season.
