Visitors come here to learn about hydroelectric development in Manitoba from 1870 to today. All ages are welcome here and can discover interesting exhibits such as a wind turbine model, a 1940s farm kitchen and future electric developments. Kids can learn about generating stations that are in the province as well as find out about the first uses of electricity in Winnipeg. The favourite may just be the 500 kV Van de Graaff generator that is a hair-raising experiencing. Informational tours, offered by volunteers, are a great way to explore the museum and ask as many questions as you want. One of the things parents love about this museum is the interactive exhibits that allow children to learn how to use electricity safely and efficiently—trust us when we say that you will never want to imagine your life without electricity. This small but packed museum will keep every visitor entertained for a couple of hours, irrespective of the age. So, if you have ever wanted to know about the story of hydroelectric development, there is no better place to learn than this museum.
