Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is a nature reserve in Uttarakhand covering an area of 45 sq km. Established in 1988 for conserving the rich biodiversity of the region, it boasts a remarkable variety of flora and fauna with over 200 species of birds, deer, monkeys, the Eurasian jay, koklass pheasant, monal pheasant, and Himalayan woodpecker. Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the district of Almora in Uttarakhand. Back in 1988, the sanctuary was established with the aim of conserving the rich biodiversity of the region.
