The said decision was made during a meeting that was presided over by the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi with representatives of Punjab Film Producers Association, Mohali, and North Zone Film and TV Artists Association, Mohali.
Speaking about this event, the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister said that the event would be dedicated to the state’s mother language, Punjabi. He also informed that initially, this fair was scheduled to be held on February 21 on International Mother Language Day, however, the said plan then went on a halt.
The Minister also added that the Tourism and Cultural affairs Department would be organising the fair in association with the Punjab Film Producers Association, Mohali, and North Zone Film and TV Artists Association, Mohali. He further added that a documentary film related to the Punjabi film industry had been prepared, and there are plans to screen it during the festival along with other famous Punjabi films.
Further, during the festival, prizes would be distributed among different categories of Punjabi films, whereas artists would also be honoured as per categories like best actor, supporting actor, and comic actor.
