Mario Miranda's Mansion

India's beloved cartoonist and one of Goa's most prominent international icons, Mario Joao Carlos do Rosario de Brito Miranda (2 May 1926-11 December 2011), lived in this 300 years old heritage house in Loutlim. Located just off the main square of Loutolim and on a woody, untarred boulevard, heading west from the Church of Savior of the World, the iconic edifice is marked by a white boundary wall with its gate opening into a driveway flanked by garden on either side. The two storey building has over thirty rooms and its facade is with balconies beautifully decorated by characteristic grills.
Tip:
Unlike other mansions that have earned the Heritage House tag or turned into public museums, this is a private property. Visitors are not usually welcome. So, unless you know someone on the inside and have an appointment, please do not trespass.
