Figueiredo's Mansion is one of the largest living legacies of Loutolim and depicts the power and authority that landowners of the time must have commanded. The imposing, lengthy facade with its tiled roof, prominent entrance and many windows will transfer you back in time by some 400 years. The edifice is marked by a thick garden in the front. A nicely-painted and relatively low-height white boundary wall separates it from the road. Similar to the Sara Fernandes House at Chandor, Figueiredo Mansion's interiors, with a courtyard, reflect a mix of Indian and Portuguese styles. The property has been, partly, converted into a public museum, showcases its collection of porcelain, furniture, chandeliers and a private chapel.
Go past Ramnath Temple, crossing the fields, turning right towards Cortalim. From this point, Figueiredo's Mansion is less than half a kilometer to your left and faces a paddy field. You would soon see signages that read 'Casa Museu VJ De Figueiredo' and 'Old Heritage Home'.
