Dunbar also has fascinating history and history buffs will relish in exploring the ruined castle, which was once the most important Scottish Fortresses in the middle ages. This is also a great weekend getaway for families as there are plenty of things to do inside and out. John Muir Country Park is a nature preserve and features birds, plants and animals along the rigged coastline. Popular attractions for families include East Links Family Park which has on offer farm animals, go-karting, trampoline fun and plenty of playgrounds. This town is also where Scotland’s first wakeboard cable tow is located, which kids and adults can both enjoy.
