A recent research, ahead of Arabian Travel Mart 2019, suggests that Indian visitors travelling to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations over the next five years is going to create an extra 10.8 million room nights than usual. The research suggests that Indians are in fact the highest spenders per visit that was made abroad. The Arabian Travel Mart 2019 is set to take place from April 28 to May 1, 2019.
Coming back to Indian visitors being big spenders, the numbers say that visitor expenditure is expected to increase from $23 billion in 2018, to $45 billion by 2022. According to sources, despite the dip in Rupee exchange rates, the Indian outbound market has grown steadily, with an average annual growth rate of 10 to 12 percent over last seven years.
The GCC has also benefited from Indian travellers and their trends, because they are willing to spend in their outbound travels. The new generation of Indians, making up 350 million of the total population of the country is keen on exploring the world, and is big on leisure travel and certainly seems to be paving the way in this regard.
From the UAE alone, there are currently 1,065 weekly flights to India, with 130,000 seats per week. The research has suggested that India India is going to rank as the youngest country in the world demographically by 2025.
