Budva

Budva in Montenegro is at a distance of about 115 km from Dubrovnik and makes for an ideal weekend trip. Buses are the preferred mode of transport and take about three hours to reach Budva. You can also opt for a cab but these are steeply priced. Budva is the tourism capital of Montenegro and tourists throng to the town because of its natural beauty, hotels and active nightlife. The town has dozens of cafes, shops, restaurants and galleries that make it an interesting place for the tourists. The coast, which is about 21 km long and dotted with 17 beaches, can certainly classify as one of the most beautiful coasts in the world. Budva also has a rich cultural heritage and there are plenty of historic monuments, which stand witness to the fact. Monasteries such as Stanjevici, Podostrog, Rezevici and Gradiste are some of the important monuments of the town. In summer, the town transforms into a theater of sorts—shows from abroad along with the local performances can be seen all over the town.
