An Indian Reserve Battalion head constable, Pranav Mishal, tragically died after a sacred tree trunk, part of a Holi tradition in Goa, fell on him. Mishal was assisting villagers in Mencurem when the trunk slipped during its installation. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

In a major fire at Patto, ribandar, on Thursday evening, a furniture godown was gutted and as the blaze spread to an adjacent residential building, residents had to be evacuated.No casualties have been reported.

Nandesh Ramesh Falkar of Gokulwadi, Sankhali, lodged a complaint stating that on February 1 an unknown rider dashed his two-wheeler at Fondvem-ribandar, causing him to fall and suffer several injuries.
