The revered portals of kedarnath Dham are set to reopen on Wednesday after a six-month winter hiatus, with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expected to grace the ceremony. Authorities have bolstered security and made extensive arrangements for the anticipated surge of pilgrims, including road repairs, accommodation, and medical facilities.

Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar said on Tuesday that the administration has tightened security and management arrangements in kedarnath Dham during the pilgrimage season.

Researchers applied a deep learning model, CNN U-Net, to analyse flood susceptibility at a fine spatial resolution of 90 metres. The model incorporated 14 key factors, including elevation, slope, vegetation cover and water flow characteristics, to identify high-risk zones.

"This is indeed a delightful experience... The temple committee has made excellent arrangements here, ensuring that even ordinary people can now easily have 'darshan' of 'Baba' in a relatively short span of time... As of now, thousands of devotees have already had the privilege of catching a glimpse of 'Baba', as he expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for pilgrims and highlighted the improved accessibility at the shrine.

kedarnath Temple has banned mobile phone use within its premises to preserve the shrine's sanctity and enhance the devotee experience. This prohibition includes photography and videography, with legal action threatened for violations. Meanwhile, Rudraprayag authorities have implemented a comprehensive traffic management plan, including enhanced police deployment and parking facilities, to ensure a smooth and safe kedarnath Yatra.
