City residents, especially theatre lovers, will get a chance to go back in time on Tuesday. Drama songs of 1950s and 60s will be brought back on stage in its near-original audio-visual form as part of the second death anniversary observance of Malayalam poet and lyricist O N V Kurup.

Tamil Nadu minister R Sakkarapani has been selected for the N Sankaraiah Award for Excellence in Nation building, along with nine others who have been chosen for different awards. The awards are being given by the alumni association of The American College in Madurai. The college is organizing a carnival on its campus, which will be attended by more than 2,800 alumni members from around the world. The events will begin with a carnival rally.

The Greater Chennai Corporation has requested individuals, academic institutions, private firms and plot owners not to dump tree debris removed from their properties on to the streets, as it is affecting the local body's tree removal work.
