The South-Indian state Karnataka has been Congress dominant since the beginning of elections there. Since 1952, there have been 14 Assembly elections in Karnataka, out of which nine times the Indian National Congress came out victorious. What is fascinating about the party’s victory is that most of the times Congress won with a pretty considerable margin.

In fact, even in the fourteenth assembly elections held in 2013, Congress won 122 seats out of the total 224.

After the 2018 Legislative Assembly Elections, Congress along with the JD(S) formed a coalition government in the state. As a result of which HD Kumaraswamy of the JD(S) took oath as the chief minister and Congress’ G Parameshwara took oath as the deputy chief minister
