A DMK speaker, J Sivaji Krishnamoorthy, has been sentenced to two years in prison for making obscene and derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and several political leaders. The court found him guilty of uttering obscenities and provoking enmity between groups during a public meeting in June 2023. He was also fined ₹20,000.
