The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on Congress leader Pawan Khera's anticipatory bail plea. Khera is facing a criminal case filed by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife over allegations of possessing multiple passports and offshore properties.

The Uttarakhand High Court denied bail to a mother accused of forcing her 13-year-old daughter into physical relationships. Citing the severity of allegations and potential harm to the child, the court emphasized that trial courts should address inconsistencies and delays, not bail proceedings. The mother remains in custody since June 2025.

A single-judge Bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma declined relief to the applicant, observing that the prosecutrix appeared to have entered into the relationship “under a misconception of facts” arising from the promise of marriage extended to her.

I-PAC director Vinesh Chandela has been granted bail by a Delhi court in a money laundering case. The Enforcement Directorate did not oppose his release, citing his cooperation with the investigation. Chandela was arrested earlier this month as part of a probe into financial dealings linked to the firm and an alleged coal scam.
