Dibrugarh University gears up for its 3rd International Literature Festival from February 18-21, 2026. Over 150 global literary figures from 25 nations, including Ann Morgan and Kyung-sook Shin, will converge in Assam. This edition spotlights Middle Eastern and North African literature, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and celebrating Northeast India's rich heritage. Expect engaging author talks, discussions, and cultural experiences.

The winners of the 73rd British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) were presented on Sunday. Sam Mendes' epic war drama '1917' dominated the awards night by bagging six awards including best film, best director and best cinematography at the Royal Albert Hall, London. 'Joker' won three awards which include the best actor for Joaquin Phoenix and the British Academy's inaugural casting award. Renee Zellweger was bestowed with the best actress for 'Judy' while, Brad Pitt won best supporting actor for 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'.

The 92nd Academy Awards were thronged by a whole lot of controversy this year, from having ‘no host’ to not featuring any female filmmakers in the nominations for best director. However the glamorous Hollywood event, which honours cinema world over, began on a high note. From Janelle Monáe and Billy Porter opening the show with a power packed performance to Brad Pitt bagging the first Oscar of the night for his supporting role in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ – it was one entertaining event.
