When R D Burman scored for the Bengali film ‘Akrosh’, he got her to record the song ‘police tomar’. Much before that, Bappi Lahiri had recorded ‘Gopal re’ with her for the film ‘Asha O Bhalobasha’. When director Aniruddha Roychowdhury made his directorial debut with ‘Anuranan’, he got her to sing a Rabindra Sangeet (‘Mor Bhabonare’) for the film. In 2011, however, singer Anasua Choudhury suffered two strokes, followed by multi drug resistant tuberculosis, which left her battling garbled speech and immobility.
