Shamik Sinha, the composer of 'Ajob Prem Ebong', says it's purely a coincidence that the audio launch of his movieHow challenging is the experience of dubbing and directing English programmes on an adventure channel meant for Bengali viewers? What is the most difficult part of this kind of a dubbing exercise? People like to watch the programmes but, at times, they don't understand the language because of the foreign accent.
But now, they can enjoy watching the programmes since the programmes are being telecast is their own mother tongue. I believe, the viewership is surely going to go up as well as the interests. The most difficult part is when the portions that involve lip-syncing. It is an art since English with Bengali are poles apart when it comes to phonetics.
The music for your third movie composition is out on July 1. Did you deliberately time the launch date with the birthday of your idol, Ustad Rashid Khan?Actually when I asked Rashidji to release the album, I didn't know that it was his birthday. It was absolutely a coincidence. But I am very honoured that he agreed to release the album. It means a lot to me. He is God for me.
Being a singer yourself, why did you restrain from singing in "Ajob Prem Ebong"?Let my friends sing first. I will when the time comes.
Why are you not recording an album for the Pujas this year?I will be doing a new album next year for sure. I don't have eight good songs now. So, I am working on it and, hopefully, I will be ready by early next year.
Composer, singer and dubbing artiste rate these three identities according to your personal preferences?I love to sing, act and compromise. I have no preferences as such. They are all important for me and I do all with equal enthusiasm.
