#I-DaySpecial:Arindam Dey’s new music video talks about true freedom

Arindam Dey has directed a new music video for Independence Day, which features singers like Shilajit, Srikanto Acharya, Shamik , Lopamudra Mitra, Rupankar and Anwesha among others. While the music is composed by Shamik Sinha, the lyrics of the song has been penned by Sourish Bandopadhyaya. Talking about the project, Arindam said, “We planned this project in a sudden fit of rage on the eve of Independence Day.During the lockdown, we realised the actual meaning of being caged. The bombardment of negative news in all the channels made us believe that we live in a country where nothing really has changed over the past many years. This song brings out the true essence of protest, protest against all existing evils of the present time. Making a video with minimum resources in this new normal was challenging. This song talks about the real freedom from all existing evils.”
Shamik, on his part, added, “I have completed the composition, arrangement and recording of this song within two days and it was tough to compose in such short notice. I am happy that the song has come out well and all the singers gave their best to support the cause, which is independence from all negativity.”

Rupankar, who enjoyed singing the song, said, "This song is extremely relatable in today's time as there are so many uncertainties all around us."
