The Madras high court on Thursday directed the commissioner of police to consider a representation made by K R 'Traffic' Ramaswamy seeking action against the Egmore inspector for his failure to remove unauthorised banners erected along Ethiraj College Road. Disposing of the plea, Justice P N Prakash said Ramaswamy was not fighting for himself. "We must understand that it is the public who would be affected if such illegal banners fall," he said.On June 10, Ramaswamy noticed several unauthorised banners erected on the pedestrian path along Ethiraj College Road by Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK).
