Kritika Kamra has confirmed her role as the female lead in the upcoming series 'Matka King', starring Vijay Varma. Kritika explained to Hindustan Times that her character is crucial in the evolution of Matka during the 70s and 80s in Mumbai, joining Vijay Varma's character, the Matka king, in revolutionizing the game. Set in the 1960s, the show centers on Ratan Khatri, a pioneer of betting in India known as the Matka King. Varma will portray the titular role. Kritika is set to film in Mumbai from July to September and has started preparing with material provided by director Nagraj Manjule and writer Abhay Koranne. She noted that this role is markedly different from her previous one in 'Bambai Meri Jaan.'
