Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd)

Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd) was commissioned into the 9th Battalion of the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment in December 1981. An alumnus of NDC, DSSC, CDM and the Naval Postgraduate School, California, he also attended the Regional Defence Counter Terrorism Programme in the United States with specialisation in terrorist operations and financing.He has served across varied operational theatres in India and with the United Nations as a Military Observer, and was an instructor at the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad. He commanded an infantry battalion, brigade and division in Jammu and Kashmir and served twice with the National Security Guard as DIG (Operations) and IG (Operations).He later served as Brigadier General Staff of a Corps, Chief of Staff of Eastern Command, commanded a Corps and headed the Army War College. A recipient of the AVSM and PVSM, he writes on strategic affairs and authored Grey Zone Warfare: Way Ahead for India. He has also served as Vice Chairman of STRIVE India and Professor Emeritus at Rashtriya Raksha University.
